Our Story
Quvate Property was established by David Fairbairn following a career spanning more than two decades in retail and commercial property. David has held senior roles with institutional landlords and advisory firms, including National Leasing Manager at Abacus Property Group and Co-Director of Empire Property Partners.
Throughout his career, David has worked with institutional landlords, private owners and developers across Australia — delivering leasing outcomes that support asset performance and long-term value. His experience spans neighbourhood, sub-regional and regional shopping centres, with a strong track record in leasing strategy, tenancy mix and asset repositioning.
Quvate Property was founded to offer owners and investors the kind of independent, specialist advice that is rarely available from larger advisory firms. The name reflects our philosophy: to curate the right strategy and innovate in how we deliver it.

David has more than 20 years' experience in retail property, specialising in shopping centre leasing and retail asset advisory. He has held senior roles including National Leasing Manager at Abacus Property Group and Co-Director of Empire Property Partners.
He has successfully negotiated leasing transactions with national, regional and local retailers, and brings a broad network of retailer and industry relationships across Australia. His practical, hands-on approach is focused on achieving real commercial outcomes for clients.
David studied a Bachelor of Business with a major in Marketing and has built his reputation on honest assessment, deep market knowledge, and a genuine understanding of what drives retail performance at every centre scale.
